Eiffel Square’s park and the Office Building terraces have been fitted with a new, future-proof and environmentally friendly wood-plastic composite (WPC) deck flooring on 1,500 square meters, available to both tenants and park visitors, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.
“Wood-plastic composite is a new, innovative material which is dimensionally stable and resilient,” says facility manager Krisztián Friman. “Its abrasion resistance is significantly better than wood’s, therefore it doesn’t require regular maintenance.”
The new flooring does not require regular chemical treatment, rendering it an environment-friendly option. Furthermore, the covering can be produced with reusable material.
ConvergenCE, the buildingʼs property manager, noted that the re-decking was not an immediate necessity, but rather an action that sets high standards for the public park, improves tenant satisfaction, and takes important environmental aspects into account as well.
During the summer, Eiffel Square also hosted the open-air Zsiráf Beer Gardenʼs World Cup viewing events. The garden will continue to host a wide variety of programs, including live concerts during the fall.
Together with the Hungarian Red Cross, ConvergenCE, as the property developer and operator of the building, has also been organizing blood donations for over six years. Initially started for tenants, the event is now open to everyone. The next event is scheduled for September 14, according to veradas.hu.
